My order switched from preparing to Ready to Pick Up, I think everyone that preordered will get their iPhone tomorrow. This iPhone release was overpriced for many and such there was plenty of stock days after the preorder went live, which is unusual for any new iPhone release by now in the past you would be getting your iPhone by late December. But as Tim Cook recently said, Apple is not about selling the most, but selling the best iPhone (bunch of balony), Apple would not be a trillion dollar company if it did not sell millions of iPhones. If this price trend continues and with the cell phone providers offering NO incentives, people will most likely be keeping their devices for longer periods. I have been one to upgrade every year when you could get a new iPhone for $199 with a 2 year agreement (I have 2 lines, so I would stagger upgrading), but now I might have to adopt an every 2 year cycle instead. Hope everyone gets their orders on time tomorrow.

I pre-ordered on 9/18 after chatting with Best Buy’s customer service who said it’d be available for pick up on launch day. My order status was “In Progress” for with a pickup date of 9/21 as of 10:30am ET. I never got an email, text or phone call from Best Buy. I did speak with chat reps after I read the horror stories from last year, they all assured me that my phone would be available for pickup today.
This morning, I noticed that my Verizon 256GB Xs Max was listed as being in stock for store pickup today. I still did not receive any communication from Best Buy. My coworker ordered online and after an hour or so got a pickup email. I wound up cancelling my pre-order and my wife picked up a phone from another store who had it in stock.
I think Best Buy is intentionally misleading in their pickup and delivery estimates. It’s pretty clear that stores are selling to walk-ins as a guaranteed sale before fulfilling pre-orders, and hoping that most who pre-order do not cancel like I did. I hope Best Buy changes how they distribute their stock in the future, this is not a good look for them.

Hi, this is a question for the mod...
I want to take advantage of the AT&T BOGO offer by acquiring two iphone Xs. This will require that I purchase a new line, which is okay. It will also require me to pay for the difference on the second phone between the highest credit amount phone (64 gig iphone 8) and the iphone Xs. I want to pay the difference with BB gift cards I have, but when I was at Best Buy yesterday, the reps helping me said I cannot do that. They insisted that all payments had to be by monthly installments on my monthly bill for the new line.
When I went to the AT&T store today, they didn't agree with this and said I should be able to pay the difference in cash so long as I continued to make payments on the new line. They pointed out that many customers are required to make down payments so there is a way to pre-pay part of the phone. They thought maybe I was dealing with a junior rep who doesn't really know how the system works.
So, what is the answer? Can I or can I not?

Hey @a8bil,
You are welcome to request to put a voluntary downpayment on the second iPhone XS. Whatever amount you choose is payable via Best Buy gift cards in part or in full.,
