I used to the fact that when new iPhone is coming out they cost the same regardless of the place you buying them.
So I decided to go and buy my new iPhone 7 at Best Buy in order to get rewards points.
But now I relaized that Best Buy is actually selling them 50$ more than at Apple store. 699$, 799$, 899$ at Best Buy while they are 649$, 749$, 849$ at Apple store. What a ripoff from Best Buy side!
Now feeling myself so disapointed
I know that its kinda my mistake for now checking prices, but they used to be the same for newly released models all the time.

Hi there yakim,
Thanks for reaching out to us about our iPhone 7 pricing! I'm discouraged to hear you're disappointed in the pricing we have set for these phones. Please know that under our Price Match Guarantee, we should be able to price match a retail store within the mentioned 25 mile area. However, you should be aware that we are unable to price match installment billing or lease agreement prices as those are financed by the carriers.
Thank you for posting!

I just sent you a private message with my member id. Please take a look to see whether you will be able to price match it. I paid it full so no carrier agreement involved.

It is my understanding that Apple is one of those companies that demands MAP pricing guidelines. MAP is guidelines by the manufacturer as to what the minimum a company can adverstise a unit at.
So stores like Best Buy, Target, Wal-Mart, what have you, have to sell it at that price or higher.
Whenever there is a sale on Apple products it is only when Apple says to make it so.
However, the Apple store can then sell it for whatever it wants to.

No its not MAP pricing guidelines. I just checked Target and they are selling them 649, 749, 849 i.e. same as Apple store. Its just Best Buy who decided to increase price.
And to update people on my request to do a price matching - it was rejected stating that price matching have to be done only at the time of purchase and not after that. Its not the case that the item is on sale at competitors and Best Buy is selling them at regular price. 649, 749, 849 are the regular prices and Best Buy is just selling them higher. Feel very disapointed. They are using the fact that people not patient and don't remember the exact price, like when I came in I knew its 6 hundreds something plus tax.

That statement should be a 100 percent false, because I priced matched an item when the product was on sale a day later. Hence the same day price match policy is invalid and whom ever helped you, didn't want to help you. You can simply return and price match that's why. If your in the the return window. I'm assuming that's 14 days?

Hello yakim and Tomasuxsempai,
Please know that our Price Match Guarantee states that we will price match all local competitors at the time of sale. If we lower our price during your return and exchange period, we will price match the new lower price. Any price matches to competitors after the sale would be considered an exception.
I hope this clarifies your experiences!
