I placed my preorder as soon as it went live on the Best Buy website on 9/12, it was a little after 3 AM here in the East Coast. I also made a reservation at the Apple Store online to pick up in store, just in case Best Buy was unable to fulfill the preorder on release date. But it looks like I will be going with Best Buy since I received the phone call today. Apple will just cancel the reservation if you don't show up during your designated time slot.

Don't think I'm gonna get one through best buy honestly so trying to figure out my best options

I ordered the iPhone 6s Plus 64 GB Space Gray on AT&T using the AT&T Next plan to pay it off in installments.

Just an FYI, if you live in Oregon, Delaware, New Hampshire or Alaska, Apple stores will not be selling the new iPhones to walk in customers who did not preorder, not sure if this policy also applies to Best Buy stores located in those states. The reason Apple is doing this is because those states do not have a sales tax and most likely attracts scalpers.

I'm not be able to pre-order the 6s plus 128GB for space gray (ATT Next - upgrading) online it said "Coming soon" 

Question is, If i go to the store 8am just after they open, is there any chance i will be able to get my hand on it? or all the inventory will be served to those who pre-ordered it?

Wait a minute, so you're telling me that i'm NOT guarenteed a phone on friday? I specifically called Best Buy yesterday to confirm that I could otherwise I would just go to the at&t at 5am. I was told that I WILL infact be able to get my phone anytime during the hours the store is opened on friday.

If the store has some for sale that are not preorders/reserved can I get one of those? I'm worried that I won't be able to get it on friday since I just preordered it yesterday. So misleading i'd be lying if I said I wasn't annoyed....

Having the same issue, this post says no and that I need an email, but I called best buy 1-800 and was told I was guaranteed a phone. This is pretty frustrating.
