Hi again Wheels97,
I should like to clarify my previous statement, as I noticed there may be room for confusion. I would encourage you to place your pre-order once you are eligible for your upgrade, not before. I apologize if this caused any confusion!
Sincerely,

I'm in a kind of wacky situation; I preordered on the 23rd in a store for in-store delivery. I'm heading out of town the afternoon of the launch day (3/11). Stores open at 10, I could make it to pick up the phone then, but my concern is about the notification. When will I be informed if my phone is part of the initial batch, and could I safely arrive at 10, get my phone and move on?
I imagine since phones bought directly from a carrier seem to even already be shipping that the actual inventory "should" arrive prior to 3/11. Just concerned about communication of who's getting what when.

MezJR: You should recieve an e-mail once your order is ready to be picked up in the store. I know my store usually tries to do it the night before.

Hey MezJr,
As MMaier mentioned, once the order is ready for pick-up we should notify you by e-mail. Due to the many factors that can impact each store differently, including number of pre-orders at that location, amount of inventory, and when they choose to prepare for release day, it would be hard to know exactly when your phone would be available for you to pick-up. I’d suggest waiting for the confirmation email before you head into the store.
Let us know if you have any other questions!

so, quick question. i was going to do in store pickup, but chose to do shipping instead due to the fact that i read they may NOT have it if they don't get enough in store. fine, no problem, as the website states you'll get it the 11th, which is release day.
now, i've had reps via live chat and email 100% confirm with me that i would have it in my hands the 11th, but now some people on reddit are stating reps are telling them it could be 5 to 7 days after the 11th until they get it! that's pretty shady information, but i want to see what you guys say here. i have to arrange time off just to be able to sign for it since best buy requires a signature, so i'm trying to figure out what's going on here.
will my verizon s7 in black be on my doorstep on the 11th like it's been confirmed and like the website says, or what's going on here?
thank you!

also, don't know if being an elite member changes anything with shipping or whatnot, but i am one, so hmm.

Hi jayochs,
With the various responses you've received, I can understand your desire to find out more regarding how we will be fulfilling online pre-orders for the Samsung Galaxy S7/S7 edge.
As always, we ship pre-order as soon as we can to arrive as close to release date as possible as inventory becomes available. With that said, cell phone pre-orders offer a variety of aspects that will affect when an order ships, from upgrade and account issues that may arise to shipping delays, and vendor agreements.
If you intend on pre-ordering with us online, I would encourage you to keep an eye on your email for order status updates as the release date nears.
Sincerely,

I did a pre-order and bought my device outright. My order status is processing and says card is waiting for verification. Is the normal hold that BBY does to not charge the card until it is shipped out or should i contact customer support for something wrong with BBY not being able to authorize my card.

Some times the reporting system drags. Typically your card will be authorized when the order is ready to be processed. If the authorization fails it is typically canceled. If the authorization works it is then charged.
This is where the reportting system sometimes gets quirky. I have had orders still sitting in processing on release day. Then around 3 pm says it is leaving Ohio and I get home from work in Minnesota and it is on my door step. Check my computet and its says delivered.

Hi thatgeekdad,
Thanks for reaching out regarding your pre-order. Using the details you registered with the forum, I was able to check on your pre-order and everything looks normal.
Typically, we authorize the funds for the order total when an order is placed to ensure the funds are available, and only charge the card when an order ships. Many financial institutions will make authorized funds unavailable. Once an order ships, we reverse the authorization and actually charge the card to collect the funds.
However, authorizations do expire after a period of time, which triggers an authorization reversal on our end. If this occurs, you may see the authorization removed from your account. Due to the nature of pre-orders and the time between order placement and fulfillment, this is an especially common occurrence.
I hope this helps clarify, for you as well as others, the authorization and charging process that typically occurs.
Cheers!
