S5 Problems

My husband's Samsung was plugged in to charge for the night. He got up and unhooked the S5 from the charger to find a black screen. The buttons had light, but other than that, the phone was dark. I suggested removing the battery. He did so and replaced it. A fourth of the screen is now showing, but it looks like there's some glitch. It even dialed someone on its own. I know it sounds odd, but it almost looks like bad reception. The phone worked last night before going to bed. We ordered the phone from Best Buy after/on Black Friday. Has anyone had this problem before? We did not renew the Best Buy insurance, no do we have the ATT one. Does anyone know anything about the Samsung phone manufacturers warranty?

Hello Missraquelrios-

 

I’m sorry to hear that your husband’s phone is experiencing these issues.  It certainly sounds like a weird situation.  Generally, the manufacturer will have a one year warranty for most defects, but you would need to reach out to Samsung for details on how to utilize that warranty.  You can find Samsung’s support site here.

Check with your local store as well to see if they have a Samsung Experience Shop in it (you can see for sure by visiting http://stores.bestbuy.com/). I know the SES we have in my store has Samsung reps that have great tools for troubleshooting (and often fixing) issues on site!
