Hi shanra. Thank you for taking the time to stop by our community forums. I know delays are never ideal especially for a highly anticipated phone release, so, I completely understand your concerns.

 

Preorders are fulfilled in the order they are received and sometimes enough inventory isn't sent in time for the release date. This can happen for a number of reasons such as if more preorders are created than projected, as most often a particular amount is sent in advance to meet the projected preorder quantities. Once this inventory is allocated, a request will be sent for additional inventory but depending on the demand this may take longer than expected. If there are delays in getting your order you should receive an email providing an update on the order status, but you may not see an expected date until the inventory gets to the store. Once enough inventory gets to the store to fulfill your order you will get another email showing that the order is ready to be picked up. Inventory may be located at different warehouses, so might not be considered as out of stock, while the store works on getting additional inventory transferred to their location. If the store is unable to get additional inventory in a timely manner, you will also be sent an email informing you have this.
