Is the pre-owned phones same as refurbished phones? What is the return policy on these phone?
What is the warranty on these phone?

Return policy and warrenty should be the same as brand new.
They do a really good job of checking them out before putting them up for sale. However, I would still get the protection plan on them, as I do for new phones.

It is probably a stipulation from Apple on the phone.
Apple is one of those companies that really dictates to it's resellers how to act regarding their products.
At the end of the day Apple does things like this to maintain a higher level of integrity regarding their products.

Hi there dsapra,
Checking out our Best Buy Outlet is a great way to shop while saving a bit of money on the items! It seems that pre-owned items may include a limited warranty through us, but it does vary by item. I would encourage you to check the item specifications for warranty details.
Also check out this Guide to Shopping the Best Buy Outlet for more details on all the different types of items in our outlet!
Cheers!

Thanks @bobberuchi
@Arturochau, apple will still have the standard 1 year warranty from the date of manufacture/first sale date. I have seen this before.
@Tasha-BBY, thanks for responding. However my question was if the status of "pre-owned" and "refurbished" is same and that I could not locate the return policy on pre-owned phones on the bestbuy portal. Will be helpful if you could share details on these 2 questions

@Tasha-BBY, I was able to find response to different between pre-owned and refurbished on the outlet guide link you mentioned. However for the returns, I see return policy is mentioned for Cell phones with contract , but not about cell phones without contract

Hello again dsapra,
I apologize if I wasn't clear, although I'm glad you found the answers on the guide! Cell phones that are prepaid or no-contract should fall under our usual Return & Exchange Promise.
I hope this helps!
