Hello I was looking for information on when pre-order for phones get charged to card? Is it different the other pre-order items? Cause from what I'm aware when I order from best buy, pre-orders or items that are not in stock don't charge until they item ships or picked up at the store. I pre-ordered a Pixel 6 Pro on 10/20 but they said wouldn't be available to pick up until 11/26, I'm aware of authorization charge that falls off after couple days but it now 10/29 and my card shows it as a finalized charge of the full amount yet my account still states that the phone will be ready to pick up on 11/26. I know orders paid though paypal get charged right away but then was done on a best buy credit card.

I believe it is different for different products. Cell phones on one hand are one of the most fraudulent and return heavy products, and they are also more tightly controlled then other products.
I believe in the case of Cell Phones it is determined by the manufacturer when it is committed to the charge.
Especially when it is for the top cell phone on the market. This leads me to believe that a phone with your name on it has been shipped from Google to Best Buy and Google wanted that commitment on it.

I just looked, the Pixel 6 is no longer a pre-order item.
I bet yours is actually one the way and you should be getting notice soon
