BestBuy.com Verizon Early Termination Fee

Does BestBuy.com (not in store) have its own Early Termination Fee for Verizon smartphones purchased on a 2 year contract?

Thank you

Hi there ETFQuestion,

I'm glad to say that we do not have any termination fees for mobile phones, as the contract you would be terminating would be with your carrier, in this case, Verizon. You may view their return and early termination policy here

With that said, we do have a $35 restocking fee for mobile phones when returned within the 14-day period for mobile phones under our Return & Exchange Promise

Re: BestBuy.com Verizon Early Termination Fee

If I buy a phone on a 2 year contract (so with subsidized phone pricing) and then terminate the contract AFTER 14 days, will Best Buy then charge me the full retail price of the phone?

Re: BestBuy.com Verizon Early Termination Fee

The contract is actually between you and Verizon.

If you log into your Verizon account you can see how much you would have to pay to pay off your phone.

You would have to also pay off the obligation on the contract if applicable.

Re: BestBuy.com Verizon Early Termination Fee

I understand the contract part but I'm asking about the price of the phone, not the 2 year contract.

Since the phone was purchased at a subsidized price, would BB bill me the full retail price after the contract is terminated.  I've received contradicting info about this.

Re: BestBuy.com Verizon Early Termination Fee

Hello ETFQuestion,

If you are using a lease or installment billing plan rather than a 2-year contract with your carrier, it is my understanding that you would need to fulfill your financial obligations under these plans to terminate your agreement. This most likely means paying for the remainder of the device and potentially returning the device to the carrier. For more information, I would encourage you to contact Verizon.
