Accidentally preordered Pro Max for Sprint

So I’m inbetween carriers right now. I’m making the switch from Sprint to Verizon. I preordered the cellphone (one time payment, no installments) for Sprint via Best Buy. Being that it’s a fully paid phone, will I be okay putting a Verizon SIM card in it? Or do I need to cancel my preorder?

Re: Accidentally preordered Pro Max for Sprint

You should bring the phone into a Verizon Store or Best Buy Phone deparment. to make sure.

Typically only phones that are designated as UNLOCKED can do what your looking to do.

Re: Accidentally preordered Pro Max for Sprint

Greetings all!

That sounds like an unclear situation that I would want some help with understanding fully too. When it comes to iPhones that are sold by Best Buy that come from Apple, they are what we call universally unlocked. This means that they are unlocked until you insert the SIM card of a major US carrier (Verizon, Sprint, AT&T) into it. With that being said, these are not designed to be used outside of the US.

So, you should be able to keep your iPhone that you pre-ordered and insert your Verizon SIM card into it without any issues. Although, I would still run this by our Mobile team in the store just to make sure and as a precaution. Being that you are switching to a new carrier, they may have certain parameters that need to be met for everything to go off smoothly.

I hope this helps!
