I posted this in another thread as well. There is a app called iFunBox which can be found here. Its free and will allow you to pull all the songs from your ipod. However given you did not mention what iPod you had it may not work. I have personally used it with iPod Nano's (Current Generation), iPod Touch, and my iPhone with no issues. I hope this helps you more then a "let me a google that for you" post.

Hello Langdon,
One of the more frustrating things about iTunes is that it doesn't know how to find a file if it thinks it has been moved. If you have permanently relocated your music to the external hard drive and then disconnect it from the computer, the iTunes library will display exclamation points because it can no longer find the files. To resolve this, your music library will have to be copied to each computer on which you want to play music. Once that's done, you can drag your music folder into the iTunes Music window and it will either create a new iTunes library database, or update the existing one, putting an end to exclamation points.
I hope this helps!
