iPods & MP3 players

I was hoping someone could help me.  I just recently downloaded digital copies of a TV show & a movie from iTunes.  Unfortunately my nano gen 5 won't allow me to add them to it.  When set up to automatically synch video & tv shows, iTunes says it's connecting but the files never transfer.  When set up to manually transfer, I can drag & drop them to my ipod but the files never show up.  Help please?!?!

Thanks so much for your suggestion.  I read on another forum that someone had the same issue I was.  Her solution was to play the video through iTunes.  It then asked for my password to verify my account.  After that, the video & tv show both transferred with no problems.
