there is a local bestbuy near our place in Grand rapids MI, im wondering if i buy an Ipod classic or Ipod touch, do taxes apply to them?
for example the ipod touch 64gb costs 349.99 if i buy it in the Best buy Store would that be 349.99 + MI tax?
MI tax is .06
coz im planning on buying an Ipod touch and a bose headphone at the local Best Buy store. and im just wondering if they will apply taxes.
will it be cheaper if i buy the product ONLINE?

Your state tax rate will apply to an online purchase or in-store purchase on any product. Unless of course your state is like states like MN where tax isn't charged on a lot of stuff. Sometimes prices are different b/w BB stores and BB online. The BB store CAN price match BB.com's prices UNLESS the item online states "online only." However, Apple and Bose are usually excluded from coupons and promos per the MFG, so the prices for products from these MFGs will generally be close to the same no matter where you're shopping.

No problem! Have fun w/ your new iPod touch. I have an iPod Nano 5th Generation and an iPhone 3GS. Now that I own them, I'm not sure how I lived without them! Definitely download the Words with Friends app to your iPod. It's super addicting and fun. ![]()

If he purchases in-store in another state, he will pay that state's tax rate and not the rate of his home state.

I didn't mention that obvious statement b/c the OP only mentioned stores in his/her own state of Michigan. LOL
