i purchased an ipod touch 3rd generation almost 2 yrs ago, and i also purchased the 2 yr warranty. Up in till now i hve not had a problem w/ it. Lately the ipod is acting strange because the buttom where you shut it off or on, it gets stuck, also when i shut it off it makes a weird black line across the ipod screen and when i went to get an exchange at my local best buy store, they told me to just reset it. i did that but it still keeps doing the same problems, so i was wondering can i take it back and exchange it back for another one and pay the difference if the price of the ipod has gone up?

You can try but your chances of getting a exchange will be less then .00000001%. Since you had the 2 year warranty they will send it off for a rapid replacement. About the only time they allow a exchange in store and pay the difference is if you fall under the no lemon policy which if this is your first issue and exchange you would not qualify. And the chances of a store manager approving a exchange and pay the difference on your first issue is extremely rare to say the least but you can always ask. Worst thing they will do is tell you no.
