Ipod 4th generation

I bought a ipod touch 4th generation on 8-6-11 and it got broken so I went to the store cause I had insurance on it and they exchanged it on 12-18-11. My problem is I  did'nt have the extra money at the time to insuren it again. Is it to late to come in and buy insurance on the new one? My daughter is 13 and I'm affraid she might drop it and I won't be able to replace it!!
