Help I bought and iPod while I was traveling and when I got back to my country it didn't work

I bought an ipod shuffle in december and didn't try it on until I came back to my country and foud out that it makes weird noises that don't let me listen properly, I have a friend that's going to miami in a few weeks so I was thinking that she could go to the store i bought it with the ipod and the bill and then they could exchange it right?

I didn't pay for any guarantee but I think it's Best Buys duty to fix my problem. If any of you knows something please help me!

You have a 30 day exchange option only. Once you are past 30 days, you will not get an exchange.

It may just be easier to take it to a Apple store in your country if you have one.

----------ALWAYS check your purchased items for damage before leaving the store. If you never leave the store and check it in front of a employee it removes all doubt that you might have damaged the item.----------
