Overscan greyed out, picture too large for screen

I'm a NASCAR fan and Fox Sports has added a left side data bar to their broadcast.  I cannot see the left side of this new box.  I have tried changing the aspect ratio but the only setting that makes it visible makes the picture too tall and squishes the picture to unrecognizable proportions.  I've been told to turn "overrun" off but in the menu it's greyed out and turned on.

Model number:  NS-L 47Q09-10A

I'm having the problem viewing channel FS1, through my cable provider Xfinity.

Please help!

Hello racinjunkie,

Welcome to Community@Insignia!

Are you using a cable box? If so, I recommend adjusting the picture settings for that device. If you are not using a cable box, I would suggest contacting Comcast for further assistance.

Re: Overscan greyed out, picture too large for screen

I've already tried adjusting through the cable box.  Through my searching online I've discovered the concensus is this is an insignia firmware issue by not allowing customers to turn off the overscan function.  Therefore, you've lost me as a customer, my next electronics purchases will be anything but Insignia products.
