Insignia Smart TV wont find internet

I have a 39" Roku Smart TV NS-39DR510NA17 that I need to unplug to reboot in order for it to connect to internet each time I turn TV on.  If I do not unplug to reboot, the TV cannot see any of my wireless connections.  As soon as I reboot it connects right up. This has been this way since the day I purchased about 60 days ago.  The TV is up to date in software.

How do I fix this issue.

Re: Insignia Smart TV wont find internet

Greetings sheldonrrs,

Welcome to the Insignia Community! I’m sorry to hear that your 39” Roku Smart TV is having some issues connecting to the internet. I’d be happy to see how I can assist you further.

It’s possible there could be an issue with the wireless card in your TV. Does this issue present it’s self each time the TV is turned on? Or does it happen sporadically? Have you tried to connect your TV via an Ethernet cord directly to your router? Can you please try to reset your router to see if that prevents the issue from occurring? Sometimes a communication error between your router, and TV may be happening which is why unplugging your TV allows your TV find the Wi-Fi signal again without an issue.

I look forward to your reply to learn more about your issue to see what other recommendations I can make for you!

Respectfully,

Mariah

Re: Insignia Smart TV wont find internet

Each time I turn the TV off, I have to Reboot to acquire internet. As long as tv is on after a reboot it will stay connected. No I have not tried connecting tv directly with Ethernet cord. It would be extremely difficult to attempt, and I would have to go out and purchase a 15 ft cord.
I have rebooted router many times trying to see if that would solve problem.

Re: Insignia Smart TV wont find internet

sheldonrrs,

Thank you so much for sharing those details with me. How far away is your TV from your router? It's possible that signal may not be strong enough in that area of your home. Also, have you tried to reset your TV back to factory settings yet? If you haven’t done so I’d recommending trying to do that now to see if remedies the issues you’re experiencing.

Kindly,

Mariah

Re: Insignia Smart TV wont find internet

My router is about 15 feet from the TV.

Yes, I have reverted back to factory settings twice to see if that woould solve the problem.

Thanks!

Re: Insignia Smart TV wont find internet

Hello sheldonrrs,

Thank you so much for getting back to me quickly to share that you have tried to factory reset your TV, and it didn’t resolve the issue with connecting to Wi-Fi. At this time it may be best to have your local Best Buy’s Geek Squad take a peek at your TV under your manufacturer’s warranty. You can schedule an appointment here. Please note you may be required to provide proof of purchase to receive assistance under your warranty.

Kindly,

Re: Insignia Smart TV wont find internet

I would suggest as well that you connect your TV directly to your router, using an Ethernet cable. WiFi is not always reliable at great distances from the router, as your TV appears to be. I had an issue very similar to yours a few months ago; I called in a Spectrum technician, who connected my Roku player directly to my router with an Ethernet cable. Presto--the problem was resolved, and my TV has been working without a hitch ever since. You have an Insignia Smart TV; however, I have read in posts to this forum that the WiFi connection from the TV to the Internet in these sets does not always work well. People who report this problem are almost always advised to bypass the TV's built-in WiFi system and to use a standalone Roku Internet device instead; nine times out of ten this will resolve the issue, once and for all.

I hope this helps to resolve your issue.
