I bought a NS-48DR510NA17 on 9/17/2016. The TV is in our home, connected to a DirecTV Genie extender, Samsung Blu Ray and now, an AppleTV. I had to put the AppleTV on this TV due to the consistently inconsistent remote issues with this device. More often than not, the TV will not respond to commands from the OEM remote, or replacement remotes.
1) the TV software is up to date.
2) I’ve attempted the troubleshooting with the remote of ‘removing batteries, rocking face day to push all the buttons, fresh batteries’.
3) I’ve attempted the troubleshooting of ‘unplug the TV, wait, plug back in’.
4) I’ve set up a Harmony remote as a backup.
All of these steps are inconsistantly successful. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don’t. Is there an issue with the product itself - the IR receiver or the software that controls it? A quick search on the net will show that there are many people with this issue.
What at is Best Buy’s response?

Given that you've attempted the typical recommended troubleshooting without lasting success, your TV will likely need repairs. Please call Geek Squad at 800-433-5778 to schedule a technician to visit your home.
