Cable guide issue solved

I am pleased to report to the community that my issue with the Spectrum on-screen cable guide being too small for me to read has been resolved. In response to a message from me regarding this issue, Satch suggested to me that I get a TV with a larger screen (I was watching TV from a distance of 10 feet away on a 19" (18.5-inch diagonal) set at the time); after much thought and consideration, I went online and ordered, from Best Buy, a new 32" Insignia flat screen. The new set arrived at my apartment three days later. That solved my problem once and for all, just as I had hoped! The guide is now much easier to read, to say nothing of my favorite shows (live TV, DVDs and even VHS videos) being more enjoyable on the so-called "big screen" as well. My eyesight has been poor my entire life due to a brain injury at birth and the natural decline in eyesight caused by aging (I am almost 62 years old and have worn very strong eyeglasses since I was eleven), so watching my 19" set was something of a challenge, especially when reading the Spectrum on-screen cable guide.

I don't know why on earth I waited so long (seven years) to get a larger TV. Those extra 13 inches of screen size (from 19 inches to 32) made all the difference in the world, not only with the cable guide but with my favorite TV shows and newscasts as well. Upgrading to the larger screen was one of the best things I ever did in my life. My sincere thanks go to Satch for suggesting that I get a TV with a larger screen, and saying I would notice the difference immediately. I sure did! As I said, the difference was literally like the difference between night and day. I enjoy TV now more than I ever have in my life, and all it took was getting a TV with a larger screen.

I would like to clear up one thing in my post so there are no misunderstandings. "Satch" is the member name of a poster to the Time Warner Cable (now Spectrum) forum. I had sent this person a private message regarding my purchase of a new HDTV to resolve my issues with the cable guide. I apologize for any confusion my reference to this person may have caused.

  Regards,
