You buyin' dat i.pad???

...I just might. Everyone's saying it's just an oversized i.phone/i.touch. I don't have either, so I'm actually toying with the idea of buying one.

Thoughts?

A computer that can run one program at a time? My Nokia is more capable than that.

It is a great concept but the OS needs some tweaking which I am sure Apple will do later.

I "might" once they resolve all the "issues". No Flash one something that's supposed to be purely a "media consumption" unit seems pretty silly to me.

Also the price point. I don't think so.

Apple thinks flash is a worthless technology.

Apple is wrong.

Also.

I will not be buying one, as, my DROID does video, web, photos, books, etc...>AND it fits in my pocket.

Re: You buyin' dat i.pad???

I think they're a joke.  They do a few little "cute" things the iPhone and iPod don't do, but they aren't worth it!  If one doesn't have AT&T to get an iPhone, just go w/ the iPod touch.  The iPad is the same price and can't even use a lot of the apps already available for the iPhone or iPod b/c the apps aren't compatible with a screen as large as the iPad's.  Unless the price is significantly lowered in the near future, I think they'll fade out quickly.

Nothing I post is an official statment of Best Buy or Geek Squad, it is only a helpful opinion!

I think it'll end up like the MBA, albeit more popular. Sorry apple, but the tablet is not a viable form factor. Get over it.

Re: You buyin' dat i.pad???

I went to BB today to check it out.  I agree with most of what has already been said.  However, it is cool!  I can imagine watching a good flick on my train ride; or showing friends a picture collection.

However, the price tag is not as good as Apple seems to think considering that you can get a pretty decent full feature laptop for the same price. If you need to add a camera to the Ipad, you need to buy an accesory! If you want to type with a real keyboard.. accesory!  so, you start adding all you really need and may end up with a hefty price tag.  If I was deciding between a full featured laptop and a Ipad... I think I will go for the laptop 5 to 1.

For those of you that money is no object.. go ahead and get all the marbles with the32 Gig and 3G connection so that you can be hooked up all the time!

Re: You buyin' dat i.pad???

I had a chance to toy with one today. Definitely has a nice and clear wide-angle display. I was considering a netbook anyway as a house secondary computer. The i.pad seems like it can take that roll and be cool too.

I'll give it a bit more time before I pull the trigger, but I do see myself owning one. I just want to make sure I'm not under some Apple induced spell. :manwink:
