Does anyone that works on Best Buy stores have any information if we are going to have the opportunity to make pre orders? I called the best buy store that is near my home on march 16 to know if they will be selling the new ipad and they told me that they did not have any information. Yesterday I saw online that they will sell it online on march 16 so I called today to know if they were going to accept pre orders and the person who answer the phone was not sure and ask and then told me to keep calling every other day to make sure if they will accept it.

My local Best Buy has been telling me the same thing. I have been checking in since apple announced the iPad. They told me they are waiting for the word from corporate to start the pre-order. Even the apple guy they have working at Best Buy thought they would have started the pre-order by now. However I did call another store and they told me that Best Buy is going to announce the pre order in this weekends ad so it will start on Monday.

Woot Woot! My Best Buy IS doing a pre-order! First time yet for iPad. But it's not a guarentee I'll get one.

Store manager comfirmed to me, they don't know how many are arriving. But if I purchased a $50 Best Buy gift card and write my name on a list in a book, then I am marked in line. Everyone who pre-orders in this manner gets priority. If they have enough to get to my number, I get one. If not, next shipment I get one.

I'm excited, hope all you folks can get your hands on one too!

That is good news, I hope here in Orlando, FL they will make pre orders too. I will go to the store tomorrow.

I just returned from BB to return a Transformer Prime because I simply wasn't satisfied and was told point blank, There is NO New Ipad Preorder.

They were very cryptic about the whole conversation and when in fact, I know that there is a Preorder, It really makes me wonder just how many BB employee's names are written down in the Preorder book?

The thing is, I have been trying to come up with an acceptable tablet since the week of Feb 14th and I still am without a freaking tablet of ANY KIND..

I have had 2 Ipad 2's and a Transformer Prime and all three have either been built less than perfect or JUNK..

I started out by paying cash and now I am STUCK with my original 700.00 in BB Gift Cards...

All have been returned within the 14 day limit so why am I stuck with a BB Gift Card..Shouldn't my refund been in CASH as I spent cash with my first purchase??

I feel like I have seriously been dragged through the fire with this Tablet Purchase..

Now, it looks like I will have to wait weeks or months before I can get a "New iPad" because I am probably fighting to get on

an employee only "List"..

There is NO iPad reservation list sanctioned by BBY Corporate. Any stores that have preorder lists going are going DIRECTLY against what corporate has said and sent out in in-store memos. So yes officially there is no preordering at BBY, and those stores that are doing it are going rogue and are not supposed to be doing it.
