Well heres the deal, after calling many times last week and going to my x-Best buy on Tues. and being told that Wed morning they would start takeing pre orders for the Ipad I went there this morning and was told no pre orders, they said it was a big mistake , I would call it a big lie. they put the blame on Apple. This is just another trick to get you to there store. If I were Apple I would pull all my products from there store. They have not only lost a sale but a good customer. I know they don"t care about the loss but Radio shack or someone else will be glad to get our dollars.

Did you bother reading the other posts here about Apple cancelling the pre-orders?  Once again, someone blames Best Buy, when it was someone else who should be blamed.

My Best Buy called and cancelled the pre-order they were doing (where you buy the $50 gift card) and told me it was APPLE WHO TOLD THEM they could not do this. The store manager who is a friend of mine also told me they tipped her off as to what they were sending: ONE of each model.

So, it looks like I'm getting up at 4am to try and get my hands on one. It's either that or wait til June.

I just order from the Ipad store and it will ship in 2 or 3 weeks.

I hope the "one of each model" is a rumor...not because I am standing in line to get one, but because of the deluge of angry posts that will saturate this forum if that is true....won't be able to have a sane posting here for a week!

I hope that Apple is not holding inventory back just to drive all of us nuts.

I mean its all at their fingertips, all they have to do is look at the past sales of Best Buy as a whole and what each store sold on prev ipads and what their re-orders where and up the %. I don't understand after every iphone and every ipad that has come out that they are still short of inventory on their website and can not give Best Buy the option of saying we want X many ipads and this how many to each  warehouse center.

But I'm sure it sounds better on the news to hear that the demand was higher then Apple anticipated and ran out of stock...
