Exchange 3rd Nook Color for a different brand of eReader?

My husband gifted me a Nook Color just this past February (2011) with a protection plan. I have since had to get it replaced 2 times, so, this is technically my 3rd Nook Color, and I renewed my protection plan everytime. I am now DONE with this Nook Color and Barnes and Noble customer service.

Best Buy, fortunately just replaces the Nook Color instead of repairing it, but unfortunately Nook Color is just CRAPPY eReader!  Let me not mention the hassle and time and energy I've had to put in every time I had to reload my sideloaded data, such as, non-BN eBooks, documents, pictures, music, etc.

My question is...Could I just get an exchange for another brand of eReader or perhaps a tablet? I am at my wits end with this product and Barnes and Noble.

Thanks for any relevant responses.

If there is something currently wrong with the nook then you can ask for a store credit rather than a swap this time and use that towards whatever you would like when fulfilling your protection plan.

Even though I have gone over the 30 day purchase date? Even my last replacement was over the summer...

Thanks

As I said, something has to be currently wrong with your ereader to do the fulfillment and get a store credit instead of another nook. You can't just do it because you want a different one. Has to have a verifiable issue that is covered by whichever plan you have.

You also have to have a current protection plan on the one you swapped over the summer.

Re: Exchange 3rd Nook Color for a different brand of eReader?

Yes, there is yet again another pestering issue with this 3rd one, hence my frustration with the product and Barnes and Noble itself.

To you latter response, yes, I renewed it as per the associate's insistence. THANK GOODNESS!

Thanks again for your replies...Now I know what to do.

I have an asus transformer and I adore it. I got it with the add on keyboard dock and it basically turns it into a netbook for when I need the keyboard, and comes off when I just want a tablet for an ereader or music purpose or when I want to watch a movie. Pretty neat little thing with a good price tag on it, even with the keyboard dock.

I have a Samsung Tab 10.1 - love it.

I still use my classic non-Color Nook occasionally.

You may want to hold off on tablet purchase now - I suspect we're going to see a major new product cycle in the next few months thanks to new processors (Such as NVidia Kal-El, aka Tegra 3) coming out and Android 4.0.
