The weight is not that much more...and the quad core GPU is definitely up to the task of the screen resolution.  It is by no means slow, laggy, etc.  It is *MUCH* faster than my previous iPad, and the new display is truly gorgeous. 

The CPU is dual core, but rarely are both cores used simultaneously by a single app...no need for that yet. 

The battery has a higher MAH rating, but is not make the unit significantly heavier than previous models.  Mind you, I have an android phone (Bionic), and considered going to android for tablet, but nothing compares to the iPad, and particularly the new iPad.  My ipad is faster than every android tablet I have tried, and that includes the Prime.
