speaker wattage/HDMI, necessary?

I am looking at a couple LED home theatre screens. I hook them up to my AV system by the hdmi.

One in particular is 40w, I think the other 2 are 10 or 20.

Does it matter the wattage output on the speakers if I am using the hdmi.

I was kind of thinking the more wattage on the tv system the less I would have to have the A/V receiver up?

I am pretty sure it does not work that way so I would ask. I am thinking the wattage may not matter?

thanks Bruce

Re: speaker wattage/HDMI, necessary?

Hi Bruce,

The only way Wattage really matter is you're connecting additional speakers to your TV. The TV's internal sound which is typically 2 10 Watt Speakers an HDMI cable would work perfectly fine!
