Re: TV CONNECTED BY HDMI TO RECEIVER

Can you connect the coaxial to the receiver? If not, you would want to get an optical cable if your t.v. has an optical out and run it from the tv to the receiver and then set the receiver on that audio setting. What is the model of your tv and receiver? just to clarify, you are just trying to watch t.v. right? If so, set the t.v. to the input for the coaxial, so just cycle through the inputs til you have a picture. To get the sound through the speakers, do what i posted first.

Re: TV CONNECTED BY HDMI TO RECEIVER

To be honest, since you have a cable box, the easiest thing is to connect that cable box somehow to the receiver using whatever cable option it has.

Re: TV CONNECTED BY HDMI TO RECEIVER

Sorry thought you said, "I have a cable box". Your post doesn't make a ton of sense to be honest. Do you get signal from an antenna over the air? Do you have a cable company and get signal from a jack on the wall? If so, I answered with the info in my first post.

Re: TV CONNECTED BY HDMI TO RECEIVER

It sounds like you are trying to get surround sound or a picture from your TV to your Receiver but it won't work that way since you do not have a cable box.

Like Crystalwow stated plug the coaxial into back of the TV, change to the correct input on the TV then take a Optical Cable from the TV to the Reciever to get your surrond sound.
