I have it narrowed down to two different Samsungs. One is the LN52B750 240hz, LCD for $1,635.00. The other is the UN55B7000 or UN55B7100 120hz (not sure of the difference) for around $2,090.00. Does anyone have any suggestions? Also, I cannot see the difference in the B7000 & B7100 by looking at the specs. Does anyone know? Any halp is appreciated!

The difference between the LN series and the UN series is the backlighting mostly. LN series LCD tv's use the typical backlights used in the majority of LCD tv's, whereas the UN series is Samsung's line of LED backlit (or edge lit in this case) TV's. LED's are not nearly as bulky as a regular LCD backlight, resulting in a slimmer and lighter TV, as are claimed to be up to 30% more energy efficient than the typical LCD.
Now for my opinion: Looking between the LN52B750 and the UN55b7000 or 7100 I would recommend the LN52B750 mainly because (and many would argue with this opinion) that the colors and picture quality is more vivid on the B750 than the UN series LED's. I think LED's are a great thing and represent a good upgrade from standard LCD sets, but in this particular case the B750 looks much sharper and will be more affordable as well. The Samsung LED tv's are very impressive with their small energy footprint, slim size and low weight, but to my eye atleast they make many of the darker colors like reds, blues, and greens seem a little washed out compared to the B750, making much of the picture 'too white' for my eyes. But again this is from my viewpoint, I would advice going to the store and looking at the two types of sets and judging for yourself what picture you like better, as well as how big you want your TV to be, as the B750 would weigh a bit more and would be a little more 'bulky'. Good luck with your future TV! ![]()

I realize that the UN55B7000 & 7100 are LED LCD's. I'm trying to figure out the difference between the two LED's.

I did some research on the differences between the 7000 and 7100, seems that the two are meant to be identical, except one has a red frame and the other has a charcoal/grey frame. some sites claim the 7100 was designed to be a Best Buy exclusive, however it's able to be found on several websites. I guess the question now is what color frame do you want? lol

Yea, I didn't really find the difference at all. I figured there must be something though. Who would make the same exact tv with two different model numbers. Not sure which color I would pick if I got the LED...probably red.

red would be my recommendation as well, as I prefer TV's with darker borders, bright borders like white LCD monitors, etc. distract from the viewing experience.

I gree.....I's a nise subtle red too.
