I bought a new 59" Samsung D8000 plazma Tv a few weeks ago. Great picture and I like everythng about the Tv except that it has a very annoying buzzing sound. I have tried everything that I know of to diminish it. I route everything through a Monster power supply, I have HDMI connections for both the PS3 and the Comcast cable box. The odd thing is that the buzzing sounds worse at about 17 feet away (where my computer desk is) than it does at 9' where I sit to watch Tv. I enjoy (or used to) watching the Tv while working on the computer. I am unable to do that now. Any help would be most appreciated. I like the picture so much that I hate to trade the Tv back in but the sound is really annoying.

Samsung plasma TVs have been known to buzz. Some do and some don't. And reports of how loud it is vary. My plasma buzzed and it bugged me for about the first week, then I got used to it and hardly noticed unless my house was very, very quiet and there was a quiet scene on TV. It wasn't as loud as my DVR! It usually can't be heard over normal TV audio. You may notice that it buzzes louder during brighter scenes. If you purchased it from Best Buy, I'd give it a couple of weeks to see if you continue to notice it since you have 30 days to return. It is possible a replacement may buzz too. Then again, it might not.

Thanks. Yes I have noticed that some channels or tv shows are better or worse. Unfortunately I am zoned into the buzz now. It is worse at 17 feet where I sit at my desk than at 9' on the couch for some reason. After looking at the reviews on the Samsung site I see that a few people mentioned it and many do not, affirming your statement that one tv does and the next one may not. I will take your suggestion and wait a week or two. I have an email into Samsung for support.

ALL Plasma's Buzz period, just some louder then others.  Samsung is well known for loud buzzers.  They only thing you can do is return it and hope getting one that does not buzz that loud.

I brother went through 4 before he found one that did'nt buzz so bad..

In regards to the noise being louder at 17ft vs 9ft is all due to the acoustics in your room. One of two ways to fix it is by moving your tv around to try and find a spot that doesn't reflect towards your computer . The other is placing sound absorbing board on the wall behind your TV.

lol you shouldn't have to buy absorbing board due to a well known issue with samsung. Plamas buzz but they should not buzz loud enough to hear 9ft away. Get it replaced asap.

I have to give you props  though.  You know what your talking about and have  a lot more knowledge then me (not saying i have a lot but a lot more than the average consumer) which is needed on this forum.
