Samsung HTIB Sound Problem

I recently purchased a Samsung 40" 6-series TV and Samsung C6900 HTIB.  I was able to hook them up to my HD cable box no problem.  Everything seemed well.  After a couple days, sound started going out on my cable stations - but not all of them.  I might have sound on the HD and music channels, while none on the regular channels or sound on music and none anywhere else.  My first thought was the cable box so I had it replaced.

The problem is still persisting.  Cable guy has come out and hooked up the cable box by bypassing the HTIB BluRay and RCAing straight to the TV.  So, now I have sound from the TV speakers and I have it on all stations.  But that kinda defeats the purpose of the HT system.  Sound has worked very well when using the BR player for watching movies.  The basic thought is that, by bypassing the BR player and having sound, we know the sound is coming out of the cable box and going into the BR player but it's not being produced out by the BR or the TV isn't picking it up.

Original connection was HDMI from cable box to BR player and HDMI OUT from BR player to TV (HDMI IN 2).

Can anyone think of what I might be doing incorrectly or do you think there's a problem somewhere else?  If you think there's a problem - TV or HTIB BR player?

You're supposed to hook the HTIB to the TV via the HDMI output and the HD cable box to one of the two HDMI inputs of the HTIB.  Any other configuration is not possible for proper use of your HTIB.

Re: Samsung HTIB Sound Problem

That's what I did.

System was returned today. When I called Samsung support, the lady I spoke with also tested my remote. The remote was not functioning correctly therefore the entire system misfunctions. Apparently, Samsung HTIB are designed around the remote. If it does not work properly, then nothing does. She offered to send me a new remote but it would take 14 days. I said "No thanks. I'll fix the problem in about 4 hours when I get off work."
