Samsung 56" - 5 years old has no sound out of the blue

Hello.

I am wondering if anyone has had this issue. I checked the archives and do not see anything regarding sound.

It was working fine last night.

Today, no sound but perfect picture.

We checked all of the plugs, outlets, etc. everything is fine.

Gonna assume that the speakers in the TV probably died. Can generally get replacement speakers for not too much, but I'd probably recommend getting a soundbar or surround system to give you better capabilities as well as much better sound.

Reset your cable / satellite box by unplugging power cord for a few seconds & restarting. Updates sent in the middle of the night can often cause this symptom. Also, check your mute & other sound settings for recent changes, TV audio menu often has a 'reset' feature.
