I have a Bose Lifestyle 20 with a bad CD player again. I do not want to spend $400.00 a second time to repair this. I called customer support and tried to explain to the person what I wanted. I had to try to explain it three times carefully and in a calm voice. Why don't you companies use U.S. support so we do not have to explain what we need ad naseum. I am really tired of this and coupled with lake of knowledge at the store level. Not happy as this is not the first time this has happened with Best Buy. I have enjoyed the store (Sioux City, IA) and have purchased several things there over the years. All I want to know is on what other systems can I use 4 ohm speakers.

Thank you reaching out about getting a replacement receiver to power your Bose Lifestyle 20 speakers. To be honest with you that may not be the best option. As Bose stopped manufacturing the Lifestyle 20 in 2003. Your speakers may be 15 years old, and with the advances in technology it may be time to upgrade.
Yamaha, Onkyo, and Pioneer which are the more affordable receivers use 6 ohms minimum. Denon and Bose do offer 4 ohms on select models. They do tend to be more pricy though and cost more than $400.
