Thanks for sharing your issues with your new Sony TV! I’m sorry to hear that you’re getting a popping sound, and Sony believes it may be your receiver.
Can you hardwire your connection using an Ethernet cable? Your TV should have an Ethernet connection. You didn’t share if your router was in close proximity. You should be able to stream using the TV’s smart features. Additionally, if you have a soundbar connected the issue wouldn’t be with TV but the soundbar as your TV’s internal speakers should be shut off.

I had this issue with my Samsung. Best Buy couldn’t/didn’t help. Samsung advised me to leave tv on, unplug it for 30 seconds and plug it back in, to reset the tv and get rid of any glitches. It worked! If it hadn’t they would have serviced it for free under warranty.
