Plugging in multiple gaming consuls

I just bought my first big flat panel TV, yeah I know surprising huh a little behind the curve. However I do have 2 gaming systems a Wii and a Xbox 360 and the big CRT I had before I could plug both in at the same time! The Toshiba I just bought has only one input for audio and video! Am I missing something?

Re: Plugging in multiple gaming consuls

What model TV do you have? Most TV's have moved towards HDMI for audio/video connections, so if you want to make life easier, I'd safely guess your new TV has at least 2 HDMI inputs.

Re: Plugging in multiple gaming consuls

You are fine.

Some TVs have a specific port for gaming. This port will decrease lag at the cost of a little PQ performance. This feature is not on all TVs and a majority will have a gaming port that does nothing

Re: Plugging in multiple gaming consuls

Thanks for the reply.

The model I have is the Toshiba 40SL412U. It has 3 HDMI ports and it does say it has a Gaming Mode.

However the Wii and the Xbox 360 want to connect have the red, white and yellow connectors only.

What am I missing.

Re: Plugging in multiple gaming consuls

Well, I slightly mispoke, the Wii apparently doesn't have HDMI(pretty silly in my opinion, but that's another story) and the Xbox 360 does have an HDMI port.

Below should be what the back of your TV looks like. You'll need an HDMI from the XBox to the HDMI port, and then you'll need one of "THESE" to connect your Wii to the component inputs(the red/green/blue/white/red) inputs.

Re: Plugging in multiple gaming consuls

Thanks again.
I knew the Wii didn't have HDMI, but I didn't pull the cable on the Xbox to expose the HDMI port hidden under the big honkin' plug! problem solved!

Re: Plugging in multiple gaming consuls

He doesn't have to buy one of those cables he can just use the composite (red white and yellow plugins) hookups on the back of the tv. They are located directly below the component (red green blue plugins) make sure you plug in the red and white cords into the proper Spots which would be the bottom red and white plugins that say l audio and audio next to them according to the above picture.

Re: Plugging in multiple gaming consuls

The problem is/was I wanted to plug in both the Wii and Xbox at the same time. Both consuls having composite cables I didn't know how to do it. But the Real George W lead me to the HDMI solution.
