Hey all,
I got a nice 24" Dynex flat panel TV for my birthday last year and honestly right out of the box it started making a high pitched ringing noise but it only does this noise when it is off (on standby).
Is it worth trying to get it fixed or is it just easier to buy a new TV?
Thank you!

The labor alone will be more than the cost of a new 24" TV, so just buy a new one. Buy a better brand if you can too, Samsung, LG, and Toshiba all have TV's in that size that are much better quality.

While you are waiting for an answer, I want to share a piece of advice with regards to high frequency noise problems.
If you speak to anyone with this, you need to speak to someone YOUNGER than you to diagnose the problem. As people age, everyone lose their ability to hear high frequencies. Ever hear about the mosquito ring tone?

Of course another work around is to turn off the powerbar when the TV is not being used.

Hello,
Thank you. Ironically I am am sensitive to everything from noise, the weather, to lotions, foods, etc. I am only 25. I hear ringing of regular TV's, computers, and even if I sit next to an outlet with a cell phone charger in it, I can hear it buzzing...but this is different because it is loud and obnoxious and everyone around me can hear it too. lol I might just look to see if I can buy a new one like the post above says.
Thank you both!

If this was a problem from the beginning, I would have taken it in for an exchange if it could be verified by so many people. A 24" is very portable compared to something like a 50".
After so many months, I would just turned the power bar off when I'm finished with the TV.
