Looking for a 7.2 Receiver with Bluetooth Remote

I am looking for a Receiver for my deck.  The main issue is that the Receiver will be located inside a cabinet in my swim-up bar well, so there will be no "line-of-sight" and an IR remote will not work for me.  There are several users, some without Smart Phone or Tablet and I really don't want to deal with Apps.  I just want to find a 7.2 Receiver that I can use whereever I am on my multi-level 1500 Sq. Ft. deck.  Does anyone have a sugestion?  Thank you

Katie

Re: Looking for a 7.2 Receiver with Bluetooth Remote

Hi Katherine,

Thank you for joining our community looking for a recommendation for a receiver. I’d be happy to make a few suggestions for you, but I’d need some more information to do so.

What kind of speakers are you connecting the receiver to? It’s important that the receiver you choose can speak at the same rate to avoid damaging your speakers. Also, are you looking for a unit that can play music to a different zones within your patio area.

I look forward to your reply!

Respectfully,

Re: Looking for a 7.2 Receiver with Bluetooth Remote

Thank you for the response.  Here are the speaker (4 total) specifications:

Peak power: 100 Watts.
• RMS power: 50.
• impedance: 4 to 6 Ohms.
• Frequency response: 100Hz-20kHz.
• Sensitivity: 85 dB 2.83v @ 1 Meter.

I also have my deck wired to add a base speaker and HDMI devices (2).

The total deck size is 55 feet by 32 feet and has 4 levels, 5 if you include the swim-up bar well.

Thank you

Re: Looking for a 7.2 Receiver with Bluetooth Remote

Morning Katie,

Thank you so much for your patience while you waited for a reply. I apologize for my delayed response.

After reviewing your speaker specifications, and what you’re looking for in a remote it appears none of the receivers would fit your needs. With some creative brain storming plus consulting with another Home Theater Expert I believe we found a solution for you. If you’d pick a receiver that worked with your speakers then added a Harmony Remote everything should work how you’re picturing it.

The Harmony Remote I recommend is the Harmony Elite Universal. It’s rechargeable, plus it can operate devices through walls and cabinets. With the help of two IR mini-blasters you can ensure that coverage through-out your whole deck will be an option. If you wanted to add an Alexa or utilize a Google Home device you can with this remote too!

As far a receiver goes you’d want to choose one that’s a great quality. I highly recommend the following units:

Denon 1295W 7.2 Ch. Hi-Res with HEOS

Pioneer- Elite 1260W 7.2 Ch. Network Ready

Pioneer-1190W 7.2 Ch Network Ready

Please let me know if you have any questions about these suggestions. I’d be happy to help you answer them.

Kindly,
