Re: LG's Top of the Line TV

I didn't get to read the article yet, but was LG able to drop its black levels to competitive levels yet?

It looks like a very nice TV, but without  proper calibration using a spectroradiometer and software like Calman reviews like the are very subjective. Take the part about seeing the deepest blacks that he's ever seen. I can make any TV have deep, deep, blacks. Whether or not the detail is crushed out by doing so is another matter.

From the review, I think the LM9600 is really a star. I kind of like the entire structure talk-less about the bezel free stuff, perfect contrast, absolute color, fantastic picture quality and the 3D tech all put together.

Capable of using a USB 3.0 connection.  Your standard USB connections right now are 2.0.  3.0 allows for faster connection/transfer speeds.

Re: LG's Top of the Line TV

That's very true, LG is one of the best television I have ever seen. It leads the market because of its picture quality, sound and looks, I am using it since last 7 years and happy with its performance.

Re: LG's Top of the Line TV

LG only recently started to really compete with top of the line sets. And it's not because of PQ as their black levels are usually lacking.

I am extremely glad you are happy with your set, but LG us not close to leading the market. They are making huge strides the last few years to start getting to that upper echelon.

Re: LG's Top of the Line TV

LG TVs are a load of crap. it might have not been as nice as this one but the lm7600 was by far the second stupidest purchase I have ever made, the first one being the gas i got at chevron to get to best buy.

Re: LG's Top of the Line TV

At least they're improving. You may not have liked the lm7600 which I'm sure is not the case for everybody but LG took those opinions and made this insane product that even some whiners like you will love.
