LG TV suddenly stopped working

I purchased my LG TV flat screen in 2013. It has worked fine until yesterday.  It started only playing audio when I turned the cable box on, then it went out completely and won't turn back on. It's not the wi-fi or cable connections.  I already checked that, rebooted and all. Is this common for LG Smart TV's?  How else can I troubleshoot?

Welcome to the Best Buy Support Online Forum Community! It’s discouraging to hear that your 2013 LG TV suddenly isn’t working as it should be.

 

Have you tried the tips outlined in our Home Theater Troubleshooting Guide? If you have you may want to give LG a call in regards to this matter. Often times they’d be able to tell you if this is a common issue with the model of TV you purchased.

The same exact thing just happen to my lg tv. Purchase in 2013 and i was watching the news this morning and it just went black but the audio was still playing. I turn off and back on same thing. I unplug waited 15 sec and back on same thing. Do you know the number i will call and check on this issue

Welcome to the Best Buy Support Online Forum Community! I’m sorry to hear that your 2013 LG TV isn’t working either, and it’s presenting the same symptoms as LLinnen’s TV.

 

Most of the manufacturer’s phone numbers can be located here that Best Buy carries products in partnership with. LG’s TV support can reached at 800-243-0000.

 

You’re more than welcome to post what LG advises. It sounds like it may be a bad panel, but LG may be able to confirm it’s a known issue.
