DO NOT BUY THIS TV!
I gave it a good review because unlike other reviewers, I found the picture and sound pretty good, especially for the price of the TV. Since I can't change my review, I am writing here and submitting another review under another name.
I bought this TV on December 16 and it died January 2! ![]()
At least it died within the Best Buy return period. ![]()

Apparently I'm not the only one! I got this TV for Christmas and everything working fine and then this past Sunday (2/5/2012), it died. Just like that, it wouldn't turn on or anything. Luckily for you, it happened in the return policy period. Mine is out of the return policy by, oh, about a week and customer support is saying that there's nothing they can do and that it would have to be repaired. I'm sorry, but having to get a month old television repaired is not exactly my idea of a solution to the problem.
Once a lemon, always a lemon.
Hopefully someone at BestBuy can help me with this...all I want to do is exchange it. If not, well, it'll be the last time I do business there.

If it is a bona fide lemon (eliminating all possibility of damage from in-the-home power outlets, heat/dust/humidity), then the only recourse is redeeming the manufacturer warranty. Best Buy does not have to take back a lemon after the return period, because Best Buy is not responsible for something it couldn't possibly know about before you got the TV. Think about it, if the LV4400 was a lemon, wouldn't matter where you got it, would it now? It means you'd never be doing business with ANY COMPANY and in all likelihood you'd be sitting in the dark with no TV.
Save yourself the time of arguing with the wrong parties, and call LG's customer service number: 1-800-243-0000. You're welcome. ![]()

As listed by the others, there is always the possibility of a lemon for any product out there. Because of issues such as this as well as a plethora of other problems that can go wrong with electronics, Bestbuy offers the Geek Squad protection plans for electronics for when something does go wrong. Glad to hear that the problem surfaced for you before the return period expired as that does make it a bit easier to return/exchange. Manufacturers will generally take care of issues such as this for the first year, but don't expect much more after that.
Please don't blame the retailers for issues that arise from the manufacturer. Stores generally try to take as good care of customers as possible and may occasionally take a return/exchange outside the return period depending on the circumstances.
