Oh, very nice  Recent posts were links to someone else's articles, so I guess you have a couple of options. You could see if the author has a dislike button or you could 'like' the post and then 'dislike' it would be another option if you feel the need to do so. (nudge, nudge, wink, wink - shameless Monty Python reference)

Seriously though, we do welcome any suggestions for improvement (understanding of course that you reply was rhetorical). You never know where you may pick up some useful information. Either way, thanks for the post!

I used to like plasma until LED came out, but one problem with LED's i didnt like was the bleeding issues. It caused some problems with the black levels. However now that OLED is almost here I am convinced  onne of the ones u mentioned will take it. OLED ftw. If i had to choose between the Sammy and the LG one...i'd say the LG one, im not too big a fan of Sammy.

For sure I see the top side of LED being greater, but right now plasma is towards the latter end of its life cycle hence there are little PQ elements that are being tested/revamped. Instead the new products we are seeing in plasma are refined tech being tweaked and trying to implement Kuro-esque tech for as cheap as possible.

Meaning you get an awesome picture for a great value. Soon LED will hit plasma blacks and start to phase out plasma, then OLED will do the same to LED. But for this brief moment in time plasma is by far the best bang for your buck PQ wise.

agentm I was just playing... Samsung stated at ces that plasma will be around for at least another 10 years. I have yet to see a led/lcd match a plasma except for the sharp elite but it still loses out on viewing angles.

Yea, I got that 10 years sounds pretty optimistic tho. While they continue to 'tweak' plasma panel operation its pretty much as good as it gets. The newer panels have issues where they are actually too thin and self-destruct under normal operating conditions (ie. panel glass cracking during operation) due to a combination of thin glass, heat generation and necessary high voltage plates close enough to each other to draw an arc. Not to mention the panels are basically maxed out 100% of the time they are in operation (like driving your car at maximum speed everytime you get in) and are currently given 6-8 years (depending on usage) to panel half brightness output. Sony and Pioneer have already announced abandoning plasma TV production due to high production cost, high power usage limited longevity. Samsung makes their own panels so they may have that 'ace-in-the-hole' but unless there is a major breakthrough or improvement in plasma technology, I think plasma TV's days are numbered.

There's some new screens comingg out that will increase viewing angles to 160 degrees or better! Thanks for the post!

Whatt??????????  Been installing TV's for 20 years now and I have NEVER heard of this ever.

Panels are rated at half life at 100,000 hours for Plasma's.  Not sure where you get 6 - 8 years

I have a Plasma that is now over 8 years old and still looks great and going strong.

LOL TechSavvyChic, I was trying to be nice saying it was outdated buy you are correct it's waaaaay outdated info. 

All I have heard for the past 5 years is that Plasma is on it's way out, but until LED/LCD can match a Plasma TV and at the cost I am pretty confident it will be around awhile...

I love OLED technology but pricing at large sizes is years away.  Plus who knows how well the Technology will hold up.

Same for me. I'm pretty confident is saying plasma will be around for at least another 5 years if not 10. They are picture perfect Tv's.

OLED does have an opportunity to take the market once the price of becomes more towards the liking of majority of buyers. Of course like you said, as long as the technology holds.
