I will have to agree. It an installer told me he was planning to install my TV 6 feet from the floor, he'd be fired. That is far, far too high. As stated earlier, the TV should be hung so that the horizontal center line of the unit is at or about eye level when the viewer is sitting in their preferred viewing area.

Sorry, I should've pointed out that we're a commercial company. Many of our customers are installing these in public office spaces as digital signage, so we are assuming people are standing next to it, not sitting down.
I guess it would also come down to, how do they watch TV? Do they recline, or situp straight. If they recline, you may want to consider placing the TV higher up so their head doesn't have to have as much of an un-natural angle.

That makes sense for commercial space. As far as the reclining goes, I recline, not all the way back mind you just the feet up, and still have the TV and eye height for our couch. It's fine even for the movie marathon we had the other day.

I've got them at different hights in different rooms and it doesn't seem to matter that much.
I think most important is distance FROM HDTV to Viewers.
Also, if you go to a Movie theater, they are never at eye level... think about that~

If you go to a Movie Theater, the displays are probably as tall as a 2-story house ... thank about that ... :-P

In a movie theater, you are sitting many times farther from the screen than you are at home. Think about that....

Bottom line... no matter where you sit, your head is way under the screen at the movies and nobody seesms to mind. ![]()

Unless you sit somewhere between the middle to the top of the theater....![]()
Bottom line is that in a home environment, especially with the poor viewing angles of LCD or DLP TV's, the center of the TV should be at eye level when you're sitting on the couch.

Good luck with that. Most stands you buy put the TV center above eye level. ![]()

Maybe in Best Buy they are, but there are plenty of 15"-24" high stands available, and ALL the official stands for Mitsubishi DLP's are just under 16" high inclluding the stands for the 73" and larger models.
