Neihn is correct, but any of the technologies will suffer burn-in if a static image is displayed for extended periods as in your case. Some will take longer for the burn in to occur, but all of the technologies, except DLP, will burn in. The only drawback to DLP is the size of the units, since it is a projection technology, and probably wont work in your scenario.

Plasmas wouldn't be a bad idea except for the higher energy useage. If you did go with one, just make sure that it has some sort of pixel shuffle/rotation capability to help prevent image burn-in.

Even with pixel shifting, burn in will occure with any technology, regardless. Pixels and their phosphors and/or dyes will age more quickly with static images, and burn-in is inevitable. None of the technologies, except DLP, is impervious to burn in. Plasmas and LCDs are no different in this regard; one is not superior to the other, despite what some will tell you. They will *BOTH* burn in, and in your scenario, the burn in will become permanent.

I guess in this case...better make sure that you get Geek Squad protection on it! Won't stop a burn-in, but will at least cover you when it does happen.

Good advice!
