Remotes are getting uglier as they are getting high tech. Samsung's "voice recogntiion" enabled remote shown at CES was ugly. LG's new magic motion with the qwerty keyboard was ugly. 

LG did it right the first time around with the simple magic motion with nothing else attatched to it. Keep the original, add less crap.

Yeah Samsungs whole Smart UI is crappy, If Samsung would have licensed the Kinect it would have been ok but now all that Samsung smart stuff is crap.

This is supposedly the new LG OLED TV remote. Seems like they made the old magic remote shorter. Looks sexy.
