I connected my new TV to my laptop using an HDMI cable. I played a youtube video, and it worked perfectly. However, when I tried to play shows through the Netflix app and Amazon Prime on my laptop, the sound would go through, along with the captions, play button, and everything on the laptop screen, just not the shows' images themselves. Is there anything I can do for this?

Welcome to the Best Buy Support Online Forum Community! It’s discouraging to hear that you’re having some difficulties using your new Insignia TV as a larger display for your laptop.
Do you by chance pay for 4k content on Netflix? If you do it may detect that you’re playing content to a port that’s not HDCP 2.2 regulated. Other issues with formatting may be an issue also.
Did you try a different port (most likely HDMI 1)? Or a different movie on Netflix or Amazon Prime? Depending on how the video is formatted your TV may not have the specs to keep with it as it should be simply replicating what’s showing on your laptop screen.
Have you attempted to see if a streaming device helped the issue?
