If you are thinking about buying a insignia TV only expect it to last 2 years I paid $750. For a 37 in LCD on 11/05/07 it broke down 11/6/09 two years and 1 day then best buy told me to use one of there service contractors who picked up the TV 11/11/09 charged me $100. To tell me 2 mo later 1/15/10 that the parts are no longer available to fix the TV so if you are thinking about a new TV buy it some where else A TV SHOULD LAST MORE THEN 2 YEARS

Not all TV's mess up. It happens like that with a lot of things. There could have been a manufacturer error, not a retail error.

In a day and age where consumer electronics are DESIGNED TO BE CRAPPY, CHEAP, AND BREAK.... you go out and buy one of the cheapest and crappiest of said devices...
Now you are surprised it's broken... sheesh, you just can't win with some people.

Yep, every manufacturer has this problem. I seem to see it most with samsungs lately. Which sucks because I own a samsung lol. All manufactures have tvs that fail. Same with airconditioners, cars and other compicated devices. And the the more of them you sell, the more of them will fail. That is just how it works.
Now if you could compare the number of actual tvs sold with the number of complaints and failures I bet you wold see its a very low percentage. When people are happy you don't hear from them, its that simple. You only hear from the people that are not happy, and the more product you sell the more unhappy people you will have. You might look up some small company and they will have nearly no complaints and a very low failure rate. You know why, they are new and may have only sold 10,000 tvs and no one really knows about them. Compare that with a major brand that sells millions and everyone knows the name.
This is in no way an excuse for a 1000 dollar tv to die in 2 years, or even a 300 dollar one for that matter. The fact that these tvs are dieing in a couple of years is just sad. Used to be it was rare your tv died, most lasted 10 years or better and were replaced because of new technology not because they died. My Hitiachi direct view cost me about what my new flat screen did, around 700 dollars. I have had it for close to 10 years now and it still works fine. If my new samsung only makes it a few years I will be a bit more than upset just like you are. But its not just insigia tvs doing it so you know. And its not really Best Buys fault. They just sell them, they don't make them. And as long as people keep buying them, they will keep selling them.

I couldn't agree more that Insignia is a trash tv, and Insignia/Best Buy are not very helpful in resolving the problem. I had my Insignia TV for just over 2 years, when I received an electric shock turning it off. Best Buy wanted $150 to come out and just look at it, then the repair cost. This was not cost effective as a new TV wouldn't cost much more than repairing the old one. I've never had a TV last less than 7 years before. From browsing the internet on the subject, this is a very common problem with Insignia TV's, and it doesn't appear anyone was able to get a good resolution from Best Buy on the problem. Best Buy does not even sell the power boards that a customer can replace it themselves. The only option is to pay the high home delivery repair cost. I will never buy an Insignia product again, and will think twice about purchasing anything from Best Buy as they are not very customer service focussed on the repairs of products they have sold.

insignia tvs are not a single brand of tv. Insignia does not even make tvs. They are tvs from other major tv companies rebranded. So for best buy to carry replacements parts, which they do not do for any product by the way, would be near impossible for them to do.

TV's arent made like they used to be. Hate to say it but TV's today (flat screens) are considered throwaways. The old style CRT's could last for a decade if not longer. Back then you didnt have new "TV technology" changing every 6 months.

How will they not honor it. Also did your TV come with the 2 year warranty.
