Which model of Bluray did you buy? Did you set up wifi in the house, or did someone else set it up?

Did you look at the manual and set-up guide that came with the player? Also, you can go online to the manufacturers website and download them from there. They will have the instructions you need to get it online.

I purchased a LG - Blu-ray Player Model: BP220. I also signed up for the AT&T wi-fi at Best Buy so I assume that person set it up. They gave me a phone number and I was given a llittle component that finds wi-fi connections in the area and I select my connection on my laptop. That's about all I know about it.

That unit does not have wi-fi built in. Since you were given a hot-spot, using ethernet (the best choice for connecting a blu-ray to the internet) is out of the question. You will have to purchase the wi-fi adapter made for your model of blu-ray player.

Did you get device that plugs into the side of your laptop that gives you internet access just about anywhere?

Oh, God. Please don't tell me you doing this with some type of MiFi device. The ones with a data limit. God no.
If this is your only source of internet, do yourself a favor and just buy Bluray disc.

That's what I'm thinking...the OP has the AT&T Dataconnect and a 5GB plan to go with it.

Also be advices that if you start streaming movies and youtube videos, you will quickly go over your monthly limit on your AT&T account and will incur some very expensive overage charges...

The wi-fi device doesn't plug into my laptop it's a stand-alone device. You can actually connect up to 3 devices at one time using my wi-fi. I also went out and looked at the LG website for the blu-ray player but it doesn't show which wi-fi adapter is needed. Any ideas? and like I said I need "DUMMY" instructions please. Item numbers, links, and/or pictures would be helpful.
Thank you for your help.
