The answer to your question really depends on who you turn to for assistance and what kind of coverage you currently have on the product. Whenever Best Buy® has to exchange a defective component of an HTIB (home-theater-in-a-box) system, we have to exchange the ENTIRE thing – we cannot swap out individual pieces. This same limitation may not apply if you choose to work with the manufacturer directly, but please keep in mind that the policy on what exactly needs to be exchanged does vary from company to company.
Remember though that once you are beyond the manufacturer’s warranty, you’ll need to work with your local Best Buy® store if you purchased either a Performance Service Plan (PSP) or Geek Squad® Black Tie Protection (GSBTP).
