HDTV and XBOX 360

I just ordered the package with the 32 inch Sony KDL-32M4000 LCD TV with the Sony DAVHDX275 Home Theater System. The TV's got 2 HDMI inputs, and 2 Component Video Inputs. The Home Theater system's got 1 HDMI output and 1 Component Video input with a digital audio input and a digital coaxial input. I'm trying to get the best performance out of my Xbox 360. If I run the hdmi from the HTS to my tv, whats the best way to run my Xbox to the HTS?

Re: HDTV and XBOX 360

Hey mwill2551,

Because of the limited number of inputs on this particular home theater system, you’re probably only going to have one or two options available.  Before making any suggestions though, there are at least two questions that I’d like to ask:

·         Do you have any other devices that you’d like to connect, such as a DVD or Blu-ray player?

·         Do you plan on using an HD cable box or satellite receiver as well?

Thanks,

Re: HDTV and XBOX 360

The cable tv I use is straight from the wall and besides the Xbox I don't think I'll be hooking anything else up. I plan on just using the upconverting dvd player in the HTS and I do have an hdmi cord to make that happen hopefully.

Re: HDTV and XBOX 360

If it were me personally I would go through your reciever! Also if in the future you wish to connect anyting else using HDMI cables bestbuy does sell a device which allows you to hook up multiple inputs into the single one on you reciever.. We currently sell them for aroud $100 and I cant remember what tghe name of it is called but basically you have multiple (4 i think) inputs for hdmi then one output whichyou run to your reciever... When you want to change devices your simple switch which input you want it to use (1-4) hope this helps!!

Re: HDTV and XBOX 360

Unfortunately Matt that wont help his situation because the X275 does not have any inputs in the first place.

So, to the op(Thread starter) use an optical audio cable for your 360, obviously and hdmi cable from your x275 to your TV, and if you ever get a cable box you will be using a digital coaxial cable to connect the cable box to the X275
