Frustrated with LED-LCD TVs...

In the last 2 months, I have had two models of the Samsung UN60D600S and my latest is the new Samsung UN60ES6500.  All of them have had mid-level to severe flashlighting and clouding.  Too much for my picky home-theater taste.  I feel really bad returning this latest model, but I fear I will have no choice.  for $2200, I feel I should be able to get a uniformly black screen and minimal leakage from the corners and the sides... even in an edge-lit screen.

I am really at my limit for how many times I can ask my father-in-law to use his van to cart these things back and forth.

I need a miracle... I love sticking with Samsung for most tech stuff... and I am not really jazzed about plasma because of energy costs and lack of vibrance.

Also, does Best Buy have a service where they can come out and pick up the TV?  I am running out of patience and options.  Maybe I just expect too much.

On a side note, when the Best Buy personnel have brought my TV out to me, they always bring it tipped up on its longest side instead of "right side up".  Can this cause damage to the screen without me even knowing it?  It seems like an awfully precarious way to bring out a TV to a customer.

Thanks for feedback!

You should seriously consider a plasma. Electricity is cheap, and modern plasmas are almost all uniformly energy star compliant.

Putting a TV on its side will do no damage to the unit.

Re: Frustrated with LED-LCD TVs...

Spoiler

Plasma has definitely been in the forefront of my research to find a TV.  Unfortunately, every time I look at a Plasma, I see a flicker.  Others I talk to can't see it... and it seems rediculous at refresh rates of 600Hz or so... but my eyes don't jive well with it.  LED-LCD looks so much better to me... normally.  So I don't necessarily want to go from one glaring distraction to a whole new one...

But thank you.  The input is important to me.

Re: Frustrated with LED-LCD TVs...

ah, man.. I know a TV that's perfect for you at that price. Take a look at LG's LM series. I know you're thinking Samsung is the best in electronics but you're having problems with it and LG really pulled out a rabbit out a hat this time. Samsung TVs are known to have screen uniformity issues so if you can't stand it you gotta start looking at other options.
