While some of the things are not so impressive, I really like the idea of standardized parts saves LG money, saves the environment, saves me hassle.
Imagine needing only 1 tool....ohhhh glory days.

I like the direction of LG. Samsung has some really suspect quality control right now. I don't know if Sony has any love for TVs anymore.

I couldn't agree with you more. It seems like their so soaken up with making smart phones, TVs have become a secondary part of a company which relied on its TV sales to gain global status. Great smart phones, crappy microwaves and TVs.

Yeah LG has really brought thier game up. Samungs are having way to many problems. Sony has lost its way on every thing, TVs, phones, the VITA,...... I think they are trying to go bankrupt on purpose.

LOL...I think Sony is just spread so thin right now. That and they are probably gearing up for the next video game console war.

I know LG has good TV sets just like the other TV manufacturers and I am equally aware that LG is going green with their new tech, but what I am really inquisitive about is to know whether it is the 3D TV, or Smart TV or OLED TV that LG Electronics is considered as its ECO TV.

According to cnet, LG’s latest tech on its 3D TVs, Smart TV, and OLED TVs all has ECO technology. Imagine that the 47-inch class LG INFINIA LE8500 Full LED Slim LCD HDTV offers a single-layer design combined with an energy saving technology including Local Dimming, environmentally friendly and recyclable materials and LGs Intelligent Sensor function. Well, am going to find out if other companies like Sammy, Panasonic, Sony, etc are also involved in ECO tech.

They already lost the next console war... Xbox 360 (also out sold the PS3 by more than a few million units gloablly) made money after just 2 years it took almost 7 before the PS3 made and profit for sony (hardware) thier active 3D TVs are selling horribly. The psp was a faliure nintendo still dominates there(that is getting taken over by phones). Sony ericson lost money.
The TVs are probably the worst case lost like 240m last year on them. I have no Idea what they are doing they used to be a cool company and having a sony was like ohh man that guy knows his technology. now its like I just but this stupid 24" TV and want to return it because I was drunk and I will pick up an LG for half the pice and the same quality.
If sony does not have a 100% lock on japan for the ps4 its game over because the rest of the world can't make enough demand for what they want to sell.

I still have my Sony discman from 1992. Still works lol. I have lost interest in playstation over the years. I think computer gaming is where its at. Even GTA4 is better on a computer. I think Sony should abandon PS4 plans and start pimping out thei VAIO's a bit more. I think even Samsung has better note book than Sony (i could be wrong). But overall, I've lost faith in both Sammy and Sony (except for galaxy s2, i love that). I think will go all out on LG. LG this, LG that. They do make almost everything. But since not very people know about how long LG has been in the game, they respect them less. LG sold 800,000 cellphones (in korea) after only one year of entering the game. Those are pretty solid #'s for 1st year market.
Well have to see if LG fails though. LG LW series, new LM series line up + OLED, Smart TV with Google interface. So far so good

Yeah If google steps up its game more for Google TV I would be pretty happy. Also if microsoft keeps baning it out on the Xbox that is going to be super hard to beat as a one stop entertainment system.
I really hope the Xbox 720 drops by 2013 getting one of those and an Oled TV would put a serious dent in my free time.
